But only after you master the right way to use the hammock, you can enjoy this fun, comfortable way to enjoy outdoors. In this article, we’ll discuss hammock tips and tricks to make the most of it.

1. CHOOSE THE DESTINATION

Avoid hanging your hammock near streams, rivers, swamps, or lakes, where will breed a lot of biting insects in summer and disturb your good mood. If you insist on setting up your hammock there, be sure to bring a bug net.

To prevent dangerous falls, do not hang your hammock more than 3 feet off the ground (or hang on any dead trees) and clean up thoroughly the ground under your hammock to ensure that there are no sharp stones, hard branches, or any other sharp objects.

We advise you not to try to participate in hammock stacking, in which multiple hammocks are stacked vertically, it's dangerous.

2. PROTECT TREES

Never hang your hammock on young or growing trees, as their barks are not strong enough to withstand hammocks, and possibly be killed by hammocks.

You can choose trees that are at least 8 to 10 inches in diameter, and should always use webbing tree straps or tree huggers which can spread your weight out more evenly, it can protect trees.

As an outdoor brand, KingCamp is committed to protecting the environment. We produce an innovative lightweight folding hammock, it's comfortable, and more importantly, it can stand up no need to be hanged in trees.

3. SET UP HAMMOCK

Try to hang your hammock with good sag (a good starting angle is 30-degrees from horizontal) instead of string up it as tightly as possible between anchor points. This has two benefits: one is making your hammock more comfortable, the other is making your hammock more stable and harder to fall out of.

4. ENJOY MORE COMFORTABLE

Try laying diagonally across the fabric instead of in parallel, and hanging the foot side of the hammock about 8 to 10 inches higher; you will be amazed at how comfortable it is.

5. RESIST COLD WEATHER AND RAIN

On rainy days, make sure to tie a drip line on your suspension, positioned under your tarp to avoid water seeping down your suspension and getting your hammock wet.

When you feel cold, you can take out your sleeping bag and use it. One trick is to put your sleeping pad in your sleeping bag. You’ll feel warmer as some uncompressed insulation beneath you.

Whether you’re a veteran “hanger” or just starting out, hope these tips can help you make the most of your hammock when you enjoy the most enjoyable, comfortable, and fun leisure way.
