Did you encounter this situation: your kids are praying you for a camping trip more and more frequently, but as the raging new virus or lack of time or the kids are too small, etc., we cannot take them to experience camping in the wildness...In this case, indoor camping is a good idea which will be agreed upon by parents and kids at the same time.

Sure, sleeping under the stars and next to a campfire while listening to the bubbling creek run by sounds fantastic, and it is. Indoor camping may not have this amazing experience, but you also can give a surprise small camping trip for kids after you grasp some tips.

1. SET UP GEARS LIKE YOU ARE CAMPING IN A REAL CAMPSITE

Kids should sleep in a camping tent just like a real camping trip, which will bring particularly fun for them (we love those KingCamp’s comfortable tents). So you need to choose a tent big enough to sleep everyone comfortably, and warm sleeping bags and air mattresses to improve the quality of sleep. Remember to put the toy or blanket that your little one simply cannot do without at night in the tent.

2. DECORATE YOUR CAMPSITE

Some useful accessories can add a magical touch to indoor camping, so remember to do these:

  • Hang the lanterns inside your tent.
  • Use strands of lights from four poles—mapping out your campsite
  • Give kids headlights so they can use them to explore more corners of the family at night.
  • Place some photos of other campsites that printed off the internet on the wall.
  • Stick Glow-in-the-dark star stickers on the ceiling
  • Put vases filled with leaves and flowers or small bowls of rocks and pinecones around the tent.
  • Light a pine-scented candle or two.

3. DELICIOUS FOOD IS THE CENTER OF CAMPING, NO MATTER INDOORS OR OUTDOORS

There will be picnics and bonfires on a real camping trip, so if you want to replicate the scene of real camping, try to do those. You and your kids can sitting on the ground and spreading out a tablecloth on the living room floor and enjoy some delicious sandwiches, dessert, and snacks. If you have a fireplace, it's great, by all means, build a fire.

4. ADD SOME ACTIVE FUN

To be sure, almost all kids like games, especially when it played at a completely different time than usual which will increase the fun. You can prepare a simple camping-themed art project, or do some physically-demanding games, such as bean bag toss, sumo wrestling, paper airplane launcher…

5. STORY TIME

After some funny games, now the time is late and your kids need some quiet time, so it's time to invite children into the tent and start telling stories! Lower the lights in the room, and give your kids a small flashlight, and have them tell spooky stories to each other, or you can also read some camping books for your kids. Let’s begin an indoor camping trip, experience a thrilling & exciting camping night with your kids.

After a fun evening of camping games, story, and food, now your young ones should be ready for sleep now...Lights out…Have a sweet sleeping!
