1. FAMILIAR WITH THE CAMPSITE

While arriving at a campsite, we need to bring our kids to know and familiar with the campsite, let them know where they can and cannot go in the meantime.

2. KEEP CAREFUL OF RIVER OR LAKE

It’s simply a fact of life that camping in a campground with direct access to water features - like a nearby river or lake - is more fun. Bun fact, bodies of water are dangerous because can lead to drowning, so don't leave children alone by the river or lake; teach them to swim; put on life jackets for children during water sports.

3. AVOID THE LOUD VOICE

Especially while you have neighbors around your tent, we need to consider the feelings of others. Ask them in advance if they like being “visited” by children, if the answer is no, you need to remind your kids do not to visit neighbors.

4. DELIBERATE ABOUT CAMPFIRES

There is nothing more exciting for kids than roasting marshmallows, watching the stars, and telling horror stories around the campfire at night. But parents need to always be very deliberate about campfires, never leave them unattended by an adult, and make sure to put them out completely when done.

5. AVOID TICKS AND MOSQUITOES

It's best to wear long-sleeved, loose-fit clothing to cover your kids' skin (tuck pants into socks) and help protect them from both mosquitoes and ticks. Another handy tip is to treat clothes with permethrin or choose pre-treated clothing for your kids.

6. AVOID SUNBURN

Remember to apply sunscreen to your kids every two hours; avoid do any outdoor activities from 10:00 to 14:00; let your kids wear hats.

7. DON'T TASTE WILD FRUITS

For kids, the red berries and the colorful beautiful mushrooms are very delicious, which will attract them to pick and taste. But in fact, lots of colorful wild fruits and mushrooms are poisonous. Therefore, firstly tell your kids not to eat them; meantime remember to put emetics in your family's first aid kit, just in case.

8. KEEP CAREFUL OF WILDLIFE

Some wildlife is cute but possible to cause disease or a small shock to your kids, so you should learn what critters frequent the campsite and instruct the kids to tell you once they encounter one of them.

9. USE THE WHISTLE

No matter how careful you are, the energetic kids may run out of your sight. When they can’t find their way back to the tent, the safety whistle will come into play.
