The Secret to a Sag-Free Night

You’ve just upgraded to an award-winning sleep system, but when you first pull your KingCamp Ultralight Cot out of the bag, you might notice something: the tension is impressive. That’s by design.

To provide a sleeping surface that supports 120 kg (265 lbs) without sagging like a hammock, our 7075 aviation-grade aluminum frame is engineered to be tight. While it might look intimidating at first, our patented "Push-Pull" lever system does all the heavy lifting for you.

Forget struggling with spring buttons or needing raw arm strength—once you understand the physics of the lever, you’ll be able to assemble your bed in under two minutes. Follow this simple guide to master the setup and ensure your first night under the stars is as comfortable as your bed at home.

Because this cot uses high-strength 7075 Aluminum, the legs are designed to be under tension to provide a sagging-free sleep surface. Follow these steps for an effortless setup:

Step 1: The Skeleton

Unfold the two long side poles and slide them through the sleeves on either side of the fabric bed. Ensure they are seated all the way to the end pockets.

Step 2: Position the Legs

The cot comes with 4 leg assemblies. Each leg has a "Fixed Side" (the hook that stays still) and a "Lever Side" (the side with the orange or silver trigger mechanism).

  • Snap the Fixed Side onto the bottom side pole first.

Step 3: The "Push-Pull" Lock

  • Rest the cot on its side.

  • Place your palm on the Lever Side of the leg and pull the trigger mechanism toward you.

  • As you pull the trigger, press down slightly so the hook catches the opposite side pole.

  • The Lock: Push the lever down until it "clicks" into place. This uses mechanical advantage to stretch the fabric tight without requiring raw arm strength.

Step 4: Repeat and Flip

Repeat for the remaining three legs. For the most stable surface, we recommend starting with the two middle legs first, then the ends. Flip the cot over—it’s now ready for your mattress or sleeping bag!

Pro-Tips for Longevity:

  • The "Break-In" Period: Like a new pair of boots, the ripstop fabric is tightest during its first 2–3 uses. If it feels very stiff the first time, don't worry—it is designed to settle into its perfect tension.

  • Tear-Down: To disassemble, simply pull the trigger on each leg to release the tension instantly. No more fighting with spring-loaded buttons!

  • Ground Check: Ensure the large foot pads are sitting flat. If you are on very soft sand, the wide surface area of these feet will prevent you from sinking, but a quick wiggle to "seat" them helps stability.
