This mat is nice, just a little steep on the price in my opinion.
The pad itself is lined on the outside with a very soft, and nice material that is also easy to clean and weather proof. It can easily and comfortably be laid on directly without anything else.
The pad is larger than I expected, mostly in length - taller people will be happy to not have half their body hanging off the bottom.
I found the inflate/deflate mechanism to be a bit confusing - for one, there was no instructions so I had to refer to the listing here to try and figure it out.
When you get it the nozzle with be set to "deflate" if you press either side on one side - it should flip like a little hidden door, it will start to inflate almost immediately - however after a certain point I both stopped hearing the hissing of it inflating, as well as stopped seeing any progress with it getting any more plush.
It did inflate more than when it started out of the bag, but it looked and seemed from the outer casing and the pad itself, like it still had room to grow - I kept trying to open the inflation valve more in hopes it would continue to get puffier, I even tried to blow into it directly to see if it would puff up more.. It just didn't after a certain point, and that left me feeling a bit bummed seeing what seemed like so much more that it should be able to puff up - and looking at the photos from the ad. Clearly there's some sort of trick to it, but if there is - let someone know by providing instructions on how to use your product..
It can be rolled/folded up to fit into the provided bag which has a strap to sling over your shoulder making it easy to carry - though for hiking trips I personally would not opt for something this large and bulky, however if you're pulling up to a camping spot, this is a great option!

Very satisfied with the product but, get an inflator

Thus far the mattress has been quite comfortable, but I think it would benefit from an Inflator to bring the mattress to the thickness advertised, and a Deflator to help flatten it so that it fits easily back into its stuff sack.

Despite repeated attempts to contact Customer Service, however, I have not yet succeeded in finding out which, if any, of the Inflator/Deflators sold by King Camp are suitable for the mattress that I purchased.

I recently purchased this air mattress for my camping trips, and I must say, it's been a game-changer for a good night's sleep in the great outdoors!

Firstly, the comfort level is outstanding. As a side sleeper with back issues, I'm quite particular about mattress comfort, and this one exceeded my expectations. The materials used are of high quality, and the soft lining on the outside adds an extra touch of comfort. It's also easy to clean and weatherproof, making it ideal for camping directly on the ground.

Inflation and deflation were straightforward once I figured out the process. A tip for optimal inflation: avoid blowing air into it with your mouth, as it can introduce moisture. A portable inflator works like a charm. The mattress retains air exceptionally well throughout the night, ensuring uninterrupted sleep.

I love how this air mattress is versatile; it fits perfectly in an RV, camper van, or travel trailer, replacing those uncomfortable mattresses commonly found in recreational vehicles. However, it might be a bit bulky for backpacking, but for car camping or short trips, it's an excellent choice.

Overall, I'm thrilled with my purchase. It's worth every penny for the level of comfort it provides during camping adventures. I highly recommend this air mattress to all fellow camping enthusiasts!

This pad has the right size to accommodate two people, and it feels very comfortable. Excellent materials, provides enough firmness, comparable to a real mattress. Relatively easy to deploy, but I am not sure about self-inflation, I used a pump to inflate it to my liking.
The tough part is rolling it back, deflated to the initial volume. Takes a lot of patience and leveraging my full weight to get this pad small enough to fit into its bag. I guess that is the tradeoff for sleeping better, knowing this has thick foam that can never deflate, but also enjoying some of the softness of an inflated mattress.

This is a great air mattress! When you think air mattress, automatically one thinks of a pump that you have to drag along to air it up. This one has it's own mechanism that airs it up significantly. You just flip the valve and it starts to air up. To top it off to the desired firmness, you can blow into it--it took my husband 4 or 5 puffs to get it where it was comfortable. When it's time to deflate, you flip the valve again and it deflates. When you roll it up, the rest of the air comes up. It also comes with a great elastic strap to keep it rolled up, and a bag to carry it and store it. As far as air mattresses and camping mats go, this is a definite improvement, and I would recommend it to others! We really like it, and sleeping on it all night, pregnant, was not the normal air mattress experience! Great option for the camper or even just for overnight guests!

I have ordered several camping mats like this and all the others have been narrow and rather short. I am a small woman so that is fine with me but my husband is much larger and he didn't like any of them because they were too small. This is the first one that has actually been wide and long enough for him to sleep on! It is not as small when it packs down but that is to be expected since it is larger.

This is AMAZING! I have had multiple sleeping pads, air mattresses and
air mats as we camp every summer. This is the winner hands down out of
all I've tried. Worth every penny.

It's not only easy to inflate, and SO durable. But it doesn't have the
awkward bumpiness that regular air mattresses have. It feels very
similar to a standard mattress for your home.

While it says it self inflates, it didn't fully inflate til I used an
air pump. That being said, it was decently full without using the
pump. Very easy to deflate as well with the flip valve.

Most importantly, an air mattress in my book must not pop easily. This delivers!
My cat even slept on it the other day and has very sharp claws...no
issues. The material is so thick and it's a nice firm sleeping pad.
The diamond texture on top is also so nice. I despise standard air
mattresses with the awkward line weave where your back is contorted
trying to get comfortable. None of that here, and I had the best sleep
in awhile while camping using this.

Highly recommend, and with the 5 year guarantee & repair kit, that is
saying something with the durability!

The following comments are for the "double". I also have the single (78"x30"), and the comments are at the very end.

I got this pad (double, 79"x50") for my wife and I, for tent/car camping.

DOUBLE WIDTH:
When received, the pad's rolled-up dimensions were 26" long and 12-13" in diameter. The storage bag seemed extra large, but these dimensions grow (to 15-16" dia.) as the pad can't be re-rolled nearly as tightly as the factory process; so the storage bag ends up being the right size.

The initial self-inflation was taking longer than I cared to wait, so I used my mini air pump - which quickly did the job. After the pump seemed to stop adding anymore air, I put in a few puffs by mouth to fully inflate it. I let it sit for a full day to make sure it reached its full expansion. For the several days it was inflated, and when I slept on it, there was no sign of any leaks.

I measured the thickness to confirm the claimed 4" (3.9") - I could only find a thickness of 3.7" (at most). As the top surface of the pad has the "3D" pattern, 3.7" was measured from the bottom to the peak of the 3D pattern. (to the valley measured just under 3.4", with 3.5-3.6" the average between peak & valley.) You could argue which dimension is appropriate, but no dimension reaches the claimed 4" (3.9"). This is unfortunate as it's one of the most important factors in determining how comfortable the pad is.

I find the pad too firm when fully inflated, so I need to let some air out. This does increase comfort but further reduces the pad's effective thickness. So if you let too much air out, and sleep on your side, you can start to feel the pad's memory foam start "bottom out" beneath your hip and shoulder. This was not uncomfortable, but might lead to a "cold/cooler spot" when used in cold temperatures. So it's best to experiment and let air out, to the point before your hip/shoulder fully compresses the foam. I slept on the pad on a hard floor and therefore did not test anything about the pad's cold weather properties.

While having a "full size" mattress sounded like a good idea, when it came to rolling up the pad I realized it simply takes too much effort. I've rolled up other self-inflate pads before and none were anywhere near this difficult. With the valves in the deflate position, it takes a lot of pressure for them to pop open and let air out. I'm 5'-11", 175lb, and as I rolled it up, I had to put every bit of my weight onto the pad before the valves popped open and released some air. Sometimes it was easier to lay my entire body on the partially rolled pad, and simultaneously flip one of the valves halfway to get some air to rush out - then quickly close it before letting my weight off. It's a real fight getting this rolled up. I think the valve discs need to be made of thinner material which would deform more easily to release air.

Anyone familiar with self-inflate pads knows that it helps to re-roll the pad a second time to squeeze out as much air as possible, and achieve a nice tight roll. I needed to re-roll this pad 5 times just to achieve a roll which fit back into it's bag.

For Comfort, I'd rate the pad a 4.0-4.5. For Convenience though, due to the difficulty rolling it up, it would be 2.5

SINGLE WIDTH:
The thickness of the single is comparable to the double, so it's not the claimed 4". Despite that, it is a comfortable pad like the double size. As most of my comments about the double apply to the single, I'll focus on the big difference - rolling it up.

The single is far far easier to roll up than the double - truly, a pleasure by comparison. To anyone considering the double size, I'd recommend 2 singles instead. Yes, it costs more, but I think it's worth it. Of course 2 singles might not physically fit your situation. My 2-person Naturehike Mongar tent just fits the double but will not fit 2 singles, while my 3-person Nemo tent will accommodate either.

When my wife and I tried the double size, we did not find that my tossing/turning disturbed her very much. It's nothing compared to the ocean feel that comes with one of the large inflatable mattresses. Still, having 2 separate pads eliminates this issue entirely. And each person can adjust the amount of inflation to suit their preference.

My overall score for the single would be 4-4.5, compared to a 3 for the double.

We have a projector setup out back so I used this pad as I wanted to lounge on the ground.
Was absolutely shocked at how durable and comfortable this padding is!
Not incredibly thick but firm enough to feel supported and doesnt sink in as some average mattresses do.

I purchased this to use in my car. I have a Honda Fit with fold down seating and with some maneuvering around the protusions in the vehicle, I was able to fit this flat in the back. It's pretty comfortable, more so than I had expected. I thought it was just inflatable but it actually has some cushion to it as well. I think this would also work well in a tent or at home for an extra guest to sleep on when needed.

I've only used this a few times, but so far so good. It is very comfy! I am a side sleeper with back issues and very particular about mattress comfort. You can inflate it or deflate it to your desired comfort level. On its own, it will only inflate to a certain point and then I highly recommend you use a portable inflator. I recommend you not use your mouth to inflate this mattress because you'll blow moisture into it. This mattress is made of high-quality materials. It seems to hold air very well and so far does its job perfectly. It's large and bulky for backpacking, but it would work great in an RV, camper van, car camping or travel trailer to replace the cheap and uncomfortable mattresses used in most recreational vehicles these days. Good bang for the buck!

The mat is very comfortable, good r-value and reasonable price, and easy to set up. However, impossible to roll up… could only shrink It to about twice the size when it arrives.

Easy to use, both valves flip direction so they can both fill or deflate

this mattress fit the bill and the function that I was looking for. fits perfectly inside a three-person tent with just enough room on the side for our bags to be out of the way. My wife and myself along with our two-year-old I slept very comfortably even on a chilly evening thanks to the adequate thickness and insulation. And we did not wake up in the middle of the night I was our butts on the ground like I had to end the past with the cheaper air mattresses So I'm going to count that as a bonus. Even with our 2-year-old jumping on it still held up so far for two trips on average of about 3 to 4 days each. I'm very satisfied with my purchase and would definitely recommend it to anybody else.

Liked: quality, comfort, ease of setup, disliked: slippery surface, slides on canvas cot.

The product gets a 5 star for comfort. Be sure to let it inflate a few days prior to your trip and deflate to get that stretch capacity working. The only problem I ran into was that your supposed to flip a seal to deflate and the whole thing popped out which made it hard to get it back in. Overall a successful experience!

Have only used once but appears to be a great camping pad. Helped us stay warm and comfortable. Easy to inflate.

Used this on car camping trip and had a comfortable sleep. Allot better than my backpacking inflatable sleeping pad. I would recommend if space and weight is not an issue.

We let this sit out inflate cap open for a day and a half before rolling it back up to take it camping for two nights. As the lighter adult on this mat, it works super great for me. My husband, however, as the heavier adult, deals with his hip sinking to the ground. It was WAY WARMER than an air mattress thank goodness. It takes a bit of time to deflate to roll it back up but can be done with a single person. I think it is overpriced but am still thankful we had it for our camping trip. As I've only used it once, I can't speak to durability.

First off i was very skeptical, but this is super comfortable. Better and larger than expected. Also once you know how to set it up and deflate its a breeze. It has no instructions but just open the valve and push it open for half way self inflation. Then it takes about 10 breaths to fill it up. Make sure you close the valve quickly and viola. Moat comfortable pad i have had. Two thumbs up

The first pad would not fill. Something was wrong with the valves. After contacting the seller and sending a couple of photos of the problem a new pad was sent in a timely fashion. Thank you King Camp for addressing my issue and standing by your product.

I've had a sleep number bed for many years and this product is much like an expensive sleep number mattress. So comfortable and you can adjust the firmness. I use it in my motor home as the factory mattress was ok, but now the bed is great with this pad on top of the original mattress. I won't be deflating and rolling it up very often, but it does come in a nice stuff sack with elastic bands to hold it together when rolled up. Also it is not noisy. Some pads make a lot of noise when turning over. Not this one. I love my Thermarest and Big Agnes pads but this one is a step up from even those good pads. If you have need of a double sized pad and weight is not an issue (I would not back pack it!) this is a terrific pad.

We love the ease of use for this mattress. We use it in our tiny camper in addition to our cushions. This was a great addition to our camping adventures!

This is the BEST camping pad I’ve ever had. That said, I car camp. So weight is no big deal, but would not want to hike more than a mile or so lugging this behemoth. A little difficult to roll back up, but air inlet and outlet work perfectly to inflate and deflate. Bag is big enough to get the mattress back in. Do not inflate more than it naturally wants to inflate, it’s tempting, but don’t do it. You’ll just end up letting the air out.
