Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: What makes the "Hybrid" fabric system better than a regular nylon or full canvas tent?

A: The Mountain IN C5 utilizes an advanced, engineered dual-material system to give you the best of both worlds. The roof is crafted from 210g breathable Poly-Cotton (TC) fabric, which naturally regulates the temperature and prevents the stuffy "greenhouse effect" and morning condensation common to standard synthetic tents. For the side walls and floor, we use 210T Polyester Ripstop and 210D Oxford cloth with a massive PU 3000mm waterproof coating. This ensures that the areas facing ground moisture and driving rain are 100% waterproof, while the top remains completely breathable.

Q: How many people does this tent comfortably sleep, and can adults stand up inside?

A: The tent features a generous 11.2 x 7.9 ft (340 x 240 cm) footprint designed to comfortably sleep 5 to 6 adults with room for gear. Thanks to near-vertical cabin walls and a stable ridge frame, it boasts a 6.9 ft (210 cm) standing peak height. Adults can stand completely upright, walk around, and change clothes comfortably without crouching.

Q: Is the stove jack safe to use with a wood-burning stove? Does it include floor protection?

A: Yes, safety is a top priority. The pre-installed chimney opening is made with heat-resistant materials designed to safely handle a portable wood-burning stove pipe. Upgraded from previous models, the C5 features an enlarged, enhanced stove jack that minimizes heat transfer to the fabric and prevents rain leakage. Furthermore, we include a specialized fire-resistant spark mat in the box to place underneath your stove, protecting your 210D Oxford groundsheet from stray embers or ash.

Q: How does this C5 model differ from the older Mountain IN C2 version?

A: The C5 features several premium upgrades based on real camper feedback:

  • Simpler Setup: The overall peak height was optimized by 4 inches (10 cm) to make sliding poles through much easier for an individual, while still maintaining ample standing room.

  • Upgraded Durability: The outer side wall fabric was upgraded to a high-tensile 210T square-grid polyester ripstop, and the carry bag was thickened to heavy-duty 300D Oxford cloth.

  • Better Climate Control: Side windows now feature full zipper closures to reduce drafts, and the electrical e-port has been consolidated into a clean, integrated AC/fan port for easier power management.

Q: Can one person set this tent up alone?

A: While the frame is straightforward, because of the heavy-duty 16mm steel poles and the premium weight of the hybrid fabric, we highly recommend a two-adult setup for the most efficient and safe installation. With two people, the clear-span ridge structure locks together quickly. We always suggest practicing the setup once in your backyard before your first big trip!

Q: How does it perform in hot summer weather? Does it have a port for an AC unit?

A: It excels in hot weather. Beyond the breathable poly-cotton roof, the tent features two massive doors and four mesh windows that deliver complete cross-ventilation. For maximum summer luxury, it includes a built-in, dedicated AC/Fan vent port. This allows you to smoothly pass through the ducting of a portable outdoor air conditioner or fan unit without leaving a door unzipped to bugs.

Q: Does this tent come with guy lines and stakes, and are they safe at night?

A: Yes, the tent comes fully equipped for immediate deployment. It includes 16 high-strength steel stakes and 12 solid guy lines. To ensure maximum safety around your campsite at night, the guy lines are woven with highly reflective 3mm material, and the stakes are designed with high-visibility markers to prevent dangerous tripping hazards in the dark.

A great tent!

Very spacious, fit our queen size air mattress with room to spare. Also did not take very long at all to cool down at night due to the large screen doors and side Windows, Perfect tent for warmer weather

Excellent tent for family camping

We just switched to this tent after borrowing my in-laws' tent for a couple of camping trips. Their tent leaked during a rainstorm, so we decided it was time to buy our own.

So far, we're really impressed! It feels very spacious for our family of four, and I love that you can stand up inside. The large windows and overall layout make it feel bright and comfortable instead of cramped.

Setup was easier than I expected, and the materials seem well made. I also like the classic canvas-style look. It feels much more like a cozy cabin than a typical camping tent.

We haven't had the chance to test it in heavy rain yet, but we're excited to take it on our next camping trip. If it performs as well outdoors as it looks in the backyard, I think it's going to be a great investment for our family.

I'll update my review after we've used it on a few more trips.

Good space for the price, decent quality

Just used this ten in our backyard for a stay-at-home camp night with 2 adults and 3 kids, and I have to say I'm really happy with it. The inside is much bigger than I expected. We had plenty of room for our sleeping setup, gear, and still had space to move around without feeling cramped.

Setup was pretty easy with two people and once everything was up it felt solid and secure. We had some rain during our trip and the tent kept us dry the whole time. It also stayed nice and warm at night while still getting good airflow through the windows and vents.

The stakes and overall materials seem well made, and the little details make it feel like a much more expensive tent. For the money, you get a good amount of space and comfort.

Definately one of the better camping purchases I've made. Looking forward to using it again on our next trip.

I love this tent!!

First time out with this tent and we got caught in a pretty bad rain storm. But we were completely dry and comfy inside our tent!! We fit 3 XXL cots, 2 camp tables, all our clothes gear and one giant Labrador; and still had plenty of room to walk around! I ordered off Amazon.

Hi Rachael,

Thank you so much for the amazing review! We are so glad to hear that your first trip with the Cabin Tent kept you, your family, and your giant Labrador completely dry and comfy through a heavy rainstorm.

Fitting three XXL cots, two tables, and all that gear while still having plenty of room to walk around is incredible! It sounds like you have the ultimate cozy setup dialed in.

Thank you for choosing KingCamp, and happy camping on your next (hopefully drier!) adventure! ️

Awesome tent we will enjoy using

Huge tent with alot of room. It has at each end 2 doors and 2 windows at the opposite sides. Has a hole for the camping stove and a fire proof pad for the stove. We have used it twice and do not have a water issue. Zippers work well. It was a little harder to set up than the smaller tents. We enjoy having a larger tent, it gives us room to move around. And we can stand up in the middle of it. I believe it is well worth the money I spent on it.

Worth Every Penny!

Stayed dry and warm during a mid-June, NY state, down pour! We fit 3 XXL cots, 2 side tables, a 124lb black Labrador and all our personal gear, with a comfortable amount of room to walk around, inside this tent! The velcro is some serious stuff. Don't think you're going to just pull it apart and wrap the poles. Overall, this cabin tent lived up to its description. It was well worth the price, to me.

Awesome tent and amazing quality!

I just got my 10 up and I can't say enough about it! This thing is solid and it's heavy and it is really nice. I went and bought longer steaks for it just because I plan on keeping it up all year as a "she tent". It took me about 45 minutes on my own to set it up watching the YouTube video that it comes with.

Hi Bronya,

Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We are absolutely thrilled to hear that you love the quality of your tent and that the YouTube video helped you get it set up successfully on your own in 45 minutes—that is impressive!

Turning it into a year-round 'she tent' sounds like an amazing project. Upgrading to longer stakes is a very smart move for a permanent setup to keep it solid through all seasons. We hope you enjoy your cozy new space to the absolute fullest!

Best regards,

An amazing quality for an amazing price—I love the design and function of this cabin style tent

I have set up and taken down this tent twice now, once on the back yard for a test run and once on my recent two night camping trip. The tent was relatively easy to set up, especially given the simple instructions attached to the bag. I was able to set it up solo even with my young children playing in and around the tent as I work. The set up is very simple once you get the hang of inserting the a frame poles into the designated pocket.

The tent is a great size for families. My husband and I slept at one end on our full sized camping pad, and our kids slept on their single camping pads along each side of the tent. We had plenty of space in the middle left for moving around the tent, changing clothes, etc. We could have comfortably fit two more single pads in the tent. There would not be much room left for gear or moving about with that setup, though. The doors at either end make it feasible to have a packed floor without extra room.

We do not plan to use the stovepipe or the AC openings as we are a casual summer camping family, but it is a cool feature in case we ever get more adventurous.

One thing I really like about this tent is how cool it can stay during the day. This makes it ideal for daytime naps for my toddler. If you open both windows or both doors or all four, you get an excellent breezeway. The light tan color also keeps the temp down.

Another thing I like about the tent is that it is spacious and tall enough to stand and walk around. At the same time, it folds down to a very reasonable size and is not as heavy as I was expecting. It is very easy to get it back in the duffle bag, and the bag is sturdy and has held up well so far.

My biggest concern with this tent is the large area needed for setup. You need the size of the tent and an extra 4-5 feet in all directions to secure the tent with the guy wires. The tent is bigger than some tent pads we have been on in the past, and some campgrounds require all parts of the tent to be on the pad. This is of course a design feature of the tent and one I was aware of before purchasing. I love the tent despite this, it is just something to be aware of.

One of the stakes we received had the glow in the dark top installed upside down so it could not be used for guy wires. It could be used on the corners of the tent body. I have yet to reach out to the company to see how they handle this defect.

Overall I think this tent is an amazing quality for the price. Any other cabin-style tent I have found with canvas blend or full canvas is many times more expensive. I am very pleased with this purchase and I would recommend it if you are wanting a tent in this style.

Hi! Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thorough and thoughtful review. We are absolutely delighted to hear that the tent has been a great fit for your family and that you’ve been able to enjoy some comfortable, breezy backyard and camping trips with your husband and children!

It's wonderful to know that the solo setup went smoothly, the center space gave everyone room to move around, and the lighter color kept the tent nice and cool for your toddler's daytime naps.

We also really appreciate your helpful feedback regarding the footprint required for the guy wires, as well as the note about the upside-down stake top. We want to make sure your gear is perfect, so please feel free to reach out to our customer service team directly—we would be more than happy to send you a replacement stake!

Thank you again for recommending us, and we hope your family enjoys many more amazing adventures together in your new cabin tent! ️✨

Solid tent at this price point.

Easy set up for a cabin size tent. Easier with two people very doable with one. Preformed well in 3 days of heavy rain. The only water inside was where the internal poles put pressure on the floor and wall. Fit our family of 4 with lots of space. We’re able to sit k side and play card games during the rain and walk around. Materials feel durable and seems are well stitched.

awesome tent and big.

i order this last minute for our camping tripi needed something big to fit two queen air mattress it was so beautiful there and the tent we set it up between two and it was pretty easy, it was mostly intuitive, it was rainy and weird that day and at night got to 40 degrees was super cold but we were so glad the tent stayed nice and warm and the material was water repellent so we stayed nice and dry, i did have a camping stove but we used our diesel portable heater and it was nice to have the vent hole on top and not just have to awkwardly put it through the zipper. we loved the tent! simple but sturdy and easy to carry around.

It is far the best tent I've ever owned heats up comfortably stays warm now that we are transitioning into our hot season it stays cool with the screens open and ac ports truly help on those miserable hot days the space is perfect for a family of 4 little tight in the winter time with the stove but a little careful organization it will work out perfectly fine

Hi Riverkatz,

It's great to know that the tent performs so well across seasons—keeping you warm in cooler weather and staying cool with the screens and AC ports during hot days. That's exactly the kind of year-round versatility we designed it for.

We also appreciate your honest insight about winter use with the stove. A little thoughtful organization does go a long way, and we're glad it's working out perfectly for your family of four.

Good tent

This tent took a while to set up however it is very roomy inside. Me and my fiancé had plenty of room, we definitely could have fit 4 more people comfortably. We didn't have a camp stove this time but i believe it would've been easy to set up with the cutout. Quality wise it seems durable and would hold up well only time will tell otherwise for the weekend trip we did it worked perfectly. We are going to try it out next time with a stove.
