An amazing quality for an amazing price—I love the design and function of this cabin style tent
I have set up and taken down this tent twice now, once on the back yard for a test run and once on my recent two night camping trip. The tent was relatively easy to set up, especially given the simple instructions attached to the bag. I was able to set it up solo even with my young children playing in and around the tent as I work. The set up is very simple once you get the hang of inserting the a frame poles into the designated pocket.
The tent is a great size for families. My husband and I slept at one end on our full sized camping pad, and our kids slept on their single camping pads along each side of the tent. We had plenty of space in the middle left for moving around the tent, changing clothes, etc. We could have comfortably fit two more single pads in the tent. There would not be much room left for gear or moving about with that setup, though. The doors at either end make it feasible to have a packed floor without extra room.
We do not plan to use the stovepipe or the AC openings as we are a casual summer camping family, but it is a cool feature in case we ever get more adventurous.
One thing I really like about this tent is how cool it can stay during the day. This makes it ideal for daytime naps for my toddler. If you open both windows or both doors or all four, you get an excellent breezeway. The light tan color also keeps the temp down.
Another thing I like about the tent is that it is spacious and tall enough to stand and walk around. At the same time, it folds down to a very reasonable size and is not as heavy as I was expecting. It is very easy to get it back in the duffle bag, and the bag is sturdy and has held up well so far.
My biggest concern with this tent is the large area needed for setup. You need the size of the tent and an extra 4-5 feet in all directions to secure the tent with the guy wires. The tent is bigger than some tent pads we have been on in the past, and some campgrounds require all parts of the tent to be on the pad. This is of course a design feature of the tent and one I was aware of before purchasing. I love the tent despite this, it is just something to be aware of.
One of the stakes we received had the glow in the dark top installed upside down so it could not be used for guy wires. It could be used on the corners of the tent body. I have yet to reach out to the company to see how they handle this defect.
Overall I think this tent is an amazing quality for the price. Any other cabin-style tent I have found with canvas blend or full canvas is many times more expensive. I am very pleased with this purchase and I would recommend it if you are wanting a tent in this style.
